State Gas Prices Remain High

Motorists in California continue to pay some of the highest prices in the nation for fuel. AAA´s Sean Comey says the national average price at the pump for regular- unleaded gas is $1.76 a gallon. In California the statewide average for a gallon of regular-unleaded is $1.97. That´s 30-cents a gallon more than one year ago. The most expensive places in the state to fill up are Santa Barbara and San Francisco, where regular-unleaded is going for between $2.05 and $2.12 per gallon. Tuolumne and Calaveras County residents are paying about $1.93 a gallon for regular-unleaded. Modesto and Sacramento drivers enjoy the lowest prices for gas in the state, where it cost an average of $1.83 a gallon to fill up with regular unleaded.
