Sierra Hope Run For MD This Weekend

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Sonora will once again be rocking with the roar of motorcycle engines this weekend as the 11th annual Sierra Hope Ride comes to town.

Organizer Alan Aldridge says more than 2000 bikes are expected to turn out for the ride from Modesto to the Sonora Fairgrounds Saturday morning.

The event is held every year to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Aldridge says last year´s event raised close to $400,000. This year, organizers say Edgar Winter will headline a live concert and several prizes will be raffled and auctioned off.

Organizers say this single event provides approximately half of the Association´s budget for Northern California. Aldridge says the $50 entry fee for the ride includes a lunch barbecue and the concert.

Also slated to participate are Harley Davidson President Jim McCaslin and CEO Jim Ziemert. Aldridge says everyone is welcome.

The procession will leave the Modesto Harley Davidson shop at 10 AM Saturday.
