Sutter Amador Hospital received a gift of $1 million on Thursday from the Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel in support of the hospital´s multi-phase Facility Expansion Projects during a press conference and reception held at the hospital in Jackson.

In presenting the very large check to the hospital board of trustees, Jackson Rancheria Vice-Chair “Bo” Marks said, “We know the kind of quality healthcare that Sutter Health provides and are excited to help in the expansion to offer the best in medical technology.”

According to a joint news release, of the $1 million pledge, $700,000 will be dedicated to the new Outpatient Services Center and $300,000 held for future hospital expansion projects.

“We are extremely grateful to the Jackson Tribal Council and Jackson Rancheria Casino and Resort for their support of Sutter Amador Hospital´s mission to enhance the health and well being of the communities we serve,” said Anne Platt, CEO of Sutter Amador Hospital. “In recognition of this gift, the first floor of the new building will be dedicated as the Jackson Rancheria Diagnostic and Education Center at Sutter Amador Hospital.”

Scheduled to open for business in February, the two-story, 48,000-square-foot hospital expansion will house some of the most advanced medical equipment and programs available anywhere in Northern California. An additional 7,000 square feet of unassigned space allows for future technology, program growth and new physician offices.

While Sutter Health is funding $21 million of the building´s $22.7 million price tag, 7.5 percent of the project cost is expected to be raised through gifts and pledges from the community.

“Thanks to a few lead gifts, including that of the Jackson Rancheria, our hospital family of employees, board, medical staff and auxiliary, we have less than $400,000 left to raise,” said Fund Development Coordinator Laurie Chavoen.
