Calaveras Races Too Close To Call

San Andreas, CA — A few races from the General Election last Tuesday are too close to call and are waiting for final canvassing in Calaveras County.

Measure A, a $13.5 million dollar bond for Calaveras Unified School District, has 55.17 percent and needs to maintain 55 percent to pass.

Debbie Smith with the Elections Department says there are a little less than 3,000 ballots left to count. It is unknown which precincts they are from.

The two open seats on the Angels Camp City Council have unofficially gone to Paul Raggio and Jack Lynch. But there is a 134-vote margin between Lynch and third-runner up Curley Middleton and 284 votes between Lynch and candidate Jack Boeding.

And on the Vallecito Union School District Board of Trustees, Jill Bray, Ralph Emerson, and Mike Milward earned the most votes as of Tuesday night. There is a 117-vote difference between Milward and candidate Warren Alford and 267 votes between Milward and Felice Cizmich.

All other races have at least a 300-vote margin.

Smith says she hopes canvassing will be complete by the end of the week. Once the votes are finalized, results will be posted on the county´s website.
