No Go For Major Zone Change
San Andreas, CA — A request to rezone 18,500 acres was denied by the Board of Supervisors Monday.
The request was to limit splitting any of those acres to 40-acres until community plans could be developed that would lay out future growth for the area. In the meantime, Planning Director Bob Sellman says it looks as though most of the area will be either 20 or 40-acre parcels as per a 1998 decision of the Board of Supervisors.
100 community members from the towns of West Point, Glencoe and Railroad Flat, turned out to have their say on whether the land should be rezoned.
After a whole day of meeting, the board directed staff to begin the community plan process for those areas. Sellman says a consultant will be hired to undertake that task.
