Sonora Police Make Key Arrest

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Members of the Sonora High School family are breathing a bit easier this morning thanks to a Thursday arrest that may have avoided a tragic incident.

Sonora Police Chief Mace McIntosh reports that his department arrested a 17 year old Dario Cassina High School youth after he threatened to shoot individuals at either this afternoon´s rally or this evening´s Sonora High School Homecoming football game with Manteca.

According to McIntosh an acquaintance of the youth relayed his intentions to authorities. Once officers made contact, the teenager admitted he made the threats but also stated that he did not plan on following through with those intentions.

He was taken into custory on a violation of Penal Code 422 (Terrorist Threats) and turned over to the Tuolumne County Probation Department.
