Land Use Decisions Top Board Agenda

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Two major land use decisions will be discussed at the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday.

First off is the highly publicized proposed townhome project in Arnold. The 48-unit project was approved by the Planning Commission in August with the caveat that the developer pay into a fund that would put a signal at the intersection of Blagen Road and Highway 4.

Since the project´s approval, community members in Arnold have been meeting to find a better solution for the crowded intersection.

The other land use decision for the board Monday has to do with rezoning 25 square miles of land.

At the request of community members in West Point, Glencoe and Railroad Flat, planners are proposing changing the general plan to limit any future land divisions to 40 acres or more.

This would downsize potential build out of the area from 30,000 residential units to 450-2,500.

The board meets at 9 a.m. at the Government Center in San Andreas.
