Sonora, CA — On July 26th, KVML News aired a story regarding an unidentified woman who had purchased several items at the Sonora Express Mart using a $10 bill.

An hour later, she returned to the store and asked the clerk if she could exchange 10 $10 bills for a $100 bill. The clerk made the exchange but a few minutes later another clerk noticed that all the bills were counterfeit. Saturday morning the Sonora Express Mart called Sonora Police and reported that the same female who has passed the counterfeit bills had just left the store and was walking south on Washington Street.

19 year old Lissa Cheshire of Columbia was apprehended and on her person was found a glass smoking pipe containing methamphetamine. Cheshire admitted she had passed the counterfeit bills.

She was immediately transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for possession of counterfeit documents, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
