Capital Improvement Plan Meetings Open Monday

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The fifth meeting regarding the Capital Improvement Plan for Tuolumne County is scheduled for this evening.

County officials are seeking community input for the plan, which is intended to plan and prioritize county projects. The meeting will be held in Don Pedro at La Hacienda from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

Recreation Supervisor Erin Begley says the reconditioning of the Sonora Youth Center is the top priority. Following that, repair work must be completed on the Twain Harte pump room. Also high on the list of priorities is the building from the ground-up of the Groveland Youth Center.

Begley says funding will come from Proposition 40 that was passed four years ago along with state and federal sources. Foundations and even the county´s general fund will also provide a portion of the financing.

Other Capital Improve Plan meetings are scheduled for Jamestown and Tuolumne Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

There will be power point presentations and breakout workgroups. For more information contact the Recreation Department.
