Details Emerge On Prank Bus Bomb Threat

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras authorities say two West Point teens have been charged with Friday´s false bomb scare on a school bus.

Lt. Jim Macedo with the Sheriff´s Department said the 13 and 14 year old were arrested, booked and charged with making a false report of planting a bomb or other explosive.

While en route to Toyon Middle School Friday morning, the two students gave the bus driver a note that read there was a bomb that was going to explode in five minutes.

There was no bomb.

The matter has been referred to the Probation Department. Chief Probation Officer Mike Kriletich said he would meet with the District Attorneys Office to determine where to go from here. He added, it may or may not go to court.

The children have been released to their parents.
