Pacific Gas and Electric Says Heating Bills Should Go Down Soon

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Pacific Gas and Electric has mixed news for some of its natural gas customers.

The utility company says residential customers can expect to see their heating bills for this month drop by about a-third compared to January.

But even with the decline, PG&E customers will still be paying about 23 percent more than they did a year ago.

The utility company says high natural gas prices are to blame for the increase during the past year. But warmer weather this winter has reduced demand, helping to reverse the rising price of natural gas.

PG&E says it expects the average residential bill for February will be about $107. That compares to the average bill of nearly $160 last month. A year ago the average bill was nearly $90.
