WEDNESDAY MARKS ANOTHER “NO BURN” DAY

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Due to the continuing southern California fires and a shortage of fire protection resources in the Mother Lode, Wednesday, October 24, has been declared another “no burn” day.

In addition, according to CAL FIRE´s Lisa Williams, a 140 acre controlled burn scheduled for this week in Calaveras County has been postponed.

More than 250 CAL FIRE firefighters, 80 Stanislaus National Forest personnel, Sonora Fire Department Chief Mike Barrows, four Sonora area CHP officers and 60 plus volunteers from the Sacramento-Sierra Chapter of the American Red Cross have responded to the southern California fires.
