Board Gives Tentative Nod To Saddleback Subdivision

San Andreas, CA – The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors has unanimously indicated it will be supporting the proposed Saddleback Hills subdivision in San Andreas.

The board was set to consider the 133-home project Tuesday but will make its final recommendation in two weeks allowing staff to prepare the appropriate findings.

Supervisors complimented the developer for the high-density of the project in order to preserve open space and provide infill within the community.

Also, two lots in the subdivision will be given to Habitat for Humanity.

Supervisor Steve Wilensky liked that the homes would be affordable to Calaveras families with prices ranging from high $200,000s to high $300,000s.

If approved, developer Bill Rodriguez says construction could begin in 18 months.
