Sonora Police Capture Shoplifter

Sonora, CA — Prior to the noon hour Sonora Police captured a shoplifter in the area of Stockton Rd.
The teenager was caught shoplifting alcoholic products from the lower Save Mart store. He was detained by the store manager but was able to escape when he asked to use the restroom.
Sonora Police responded to the creek area where his backpack with several job applications was discovered. Shortly thereafter the unsuccessful search was terminated.
A half-an-hour later a merchant in the same area spotted the teenager near the Mother Lode Bank where he was quickly apprehended by officers and turned over to juvenile authorities.
