Identities Released On Calaveras County Triple Fatality Accident

San Andreas, Ca — At approximately 6:30 Saturday evening 70 year old Joseph Keenan and his 61 year old wife Victoria of Mountain Ranch were killed in a single vehicle accident on Railroad Flat Rd. north of E. Murray Creek Rd.

Also killed was their passenger, 42 year old Shelly DeWalt of Marysville.

According to the CHP report Keenan allowed his 1993 Dodge Ram 2500 to drift off the right side of the road. He then lost control of the vehicle and it impacted a large oak tree on the right shoulder. The Keenans were killed instantly.

DeWalt was a right rear passenger. She had to be extricated from the vehicle but died from her injuries after being lifeflighted to Mercy San Joaquin Hospital.

Alcohol is suspected as a cause of this triple fatality.

12 people have now lost their lives in traffic related accidents in Calaveras County this year.
