200 Acre Stanislaus-Calaveras Border Fire Near Containment

Copperopolis, Ca — CAL FIRE reports that the string of five vegetation fires on Hwy 4 near Milton Rd. is close to containment.
The fires are all in the same area, near the Stanislaus-Calavaras County Border. Combined, the fires are estimated at 200 plus acres. Traffic is becoming congested on Hwy 4. According to the Modesto CHP Office, traffic is moving through, however, it is very slow due to the smoke. The CHP and Caltrans are on hand for traffic control. Expect a delay if traveling in that area.
