Sonora To Host National Night Out

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — This evening the National Association of Town Watch will co-sponsor, with local police departments, the 24th edition of National Night Out.

It´s a program that brings awareness to the continuing need for neighbors to stand together in stamping out crime. Sonora Police Chief Mace McIntosh says that his officers and city officials will be meeting with neighborhood groups throughout the city this evening and explaining ways in which they can protect themselves and their neighborhoods from crime. McIntosh adds that his group will be visiting with Neighborhood Watch groups on Greenley Rd. and the Elks Hill area.

City residents are asked to keep their front porch lights on from seven until 10pm and spend the evening outside visiting with neighbors.
