Central Calaveras Fire District Gets New Equipment

Sponsored by:

Mountain Ranch, CA — The Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue Protection District has received new fire apparatus and equipment thanks to the Menlo Park Fire Protection District.

Calaveras Chief Robert Gill thanks the crew at Menlo Park who surrendered the fire engine for $2,500.

The engine is a 1987 Pierce 1,250 GPM Pumper. Menlo Park also chipped in a fire hose and some nozzles.

Starting June 25 the engine will replace the current 1971 model at Fire Station 5 in Sheep Ranch.

Gill says with the upgraded equipment, the district can now respond with four firefighters instead of two. And it also allows for more equipment storage.

The district covers Glencoe, Rail Road Flat, Eagle Ridge Ranch/Airport, Mountain Ranch and Sheep Ranch.
