When Smoke Gets In Your Eyes …

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Just in case you are allergic to smoke given the current fire season and scheduled prescribed burns, you can be placed on a list and contacted by the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit in San Andreas.

The number to call is (209) 754-3831 during regular Monday through Friday business hours if for example you suffer from asthma or a pulmonary heart condition.

And that´s not all. CAL FIRE Fire Captain Mark Steward says if CAL FIRE is contacted by Stanislaus National Forest in the event of a prescribed burn, the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit will contact all individuals on the list.

And speaking of prescribed burns, one is scheduled for this Friday from approximately 6pm to 6am Saturday one mile southwest of the New Hogan Reservoir in Valley Springs along Palomino Ridge Rd. This project is expected to last no longer than a single day. CAL FIRE will utilize nine engines and eight overhead personnel to conduct the burn on approximately 120 acres.
