Sponsored by:

Rail Road Flat, CA — Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue Protection District is holding two special meetings to discuss a fire tax proposal.

The district board is proposing to levy $65 per parcel fee to help pay for an increase in the cost of doing business and a third paid firefighter.

The district is still in the process of public hearings to give the public an opportunity to comment and review the proposed tax.

A meeting was held Wednesday in Rail Road Flat and another one is planned for 7:30 p.m. on June 6 at the Mountain Ranch Community Center.

The district board will make a final decision on the tax proposal on June 6. After which it will go up for an election through the county.

The district covers Glencoe, Rail Road Flat, Eagle Ridge Ranch/Airport, Mountain Ranch and Sheep Ranch.
