Calaveras County’s Seniors Of The Year

San Andreas, CA — Two local senior citizens have been selected as Calaveras County´s seniors of the year by the Commission on Aging.
Tony Tyrrell of Altaville and Sharon Neckel of San Andreas were both given the honor at the annual senior of the year luncheon Tuesday.
Tyrrell was recognized for his long time activism for youth and seniors throughout his community. He was also instrumental in raising money for the Bret Harte Sports Complex in Angels Camp.
Neckel is a trustee on the Mark Twain St. Joseph´s Hospital Foundation and is also the district coordinator for the AARP tax aid program.
