S.H.S. Golden Regiment Band To Arrive In Colorado

Denver, CO — According to Director Pat Sieben, the Sonora High School Golden Regiment Band is scheduled to arrive in the greater Denver area at noon today.

The band is set for a concert at Erie High School north of Denver this afternoon. One of the music teachers at Erie is Kendra Abernathy, a Sonora High graduate and the daughter-in-law of the Wildcats´ wrestling coach John Abernathy.

Later today there will be a more formal concert with a performance by the jazz band and the brass choir.

Saturday the band will march in the St. Patrick´s Day Parade in downtown Denver and then meet Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. during a tour of the state capital.

Sunday afternoon the 201 band members and chaperones will depart for the Mother Lode with an expected arrival time of 4pm Monday.
