This means more law enforcement will be on the road making sure the highways are safe. Maddox adds that the amount of DUI arrests on Super Bowl Sunday has steadily gone up throughout the years.

Last year, there was a total of 481 DUI Arrests on Super Bowl Sunday compared to the 356 arrests made in 2001. CHP also asks residents to call 911 if they see a suspected drunk driver and to be sure to provide the vehicle´s description, license plate number, location, and direction of travel.
