Tuolumne County Transportation Council Hopes To Accomplish Much In 2007-08

Sonora, CA — A number of discretionary projects are included in the Tuolumne County Transportation Council´s Overall Work Program for 2007-08.

Deputy Director Darin Grossi says the preliminary list includes completing a circulation master plan for the community of Columbia and a regional blueprint for land use development in Tuolumne County.

The Council also hopes to move forward on several trail projects. One of which, would be the extension of Sugar Pine Trail between Highway 108 and Tuolumne Rd.

In regards to roadways, the Council is hoping to work with the City of Sonora to help fund a proposal to widen Mono Way between Greenley Rd. and Fir Dr.

As far as Transit goes, Grossi says the hope is to improve some county bus stops, providing more shelters and benches.

The preliminary list of projects the Council hopes to accomplish was approved at its regular meeting this week.
