San Andreas’ Scott Johnson Killed In Single Vehicle Accident

San Andreas, CA — 27 year old Scott J. Johnson became the 11th traffic related fatality in the Calaveras C.H.P. jurisdiction this year Friday evening at 8:40 when he was killed in a single vehicle accident.

Johnson was eastbound on Mountain Ranch Rd. west of Sheep Ranch Rd. at an unknown rate of speed in his 2002 Mazda B300. According to the report Johnson allowed his vehicle to leave the paved portion of the roadway onto the south shoulder.

Johnson overcorrected to his left and left the roadway onto the north shoulder. The vehicle struck a four foot diameter pine tree. Paramedics pronounced Johnson dead at the scene of the accident.

Johnson was not wearing his seat belt. At this time there is no indication that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in this accident. An autopsy and toxicology tests will be administered this week.

Six of the 11 individuals killed in the San Andreas C.H.P. jurisdiction this year were not wearing seat belts at the time of their respective deaths.
