I.E.D. Found In Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA — Thursday evening at approximately seven o´clock a suspicious device was discovered at 524 Lewis Street.
The Calaveras County Sheriff Department´s Bomb Squad responded to evaluate the device which was determined to be an Improvised Exposive Device (I.E.D.) following an X-ray.
As a procedural precautionary measure residences in close proximity were relocated and units from the Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were staged in the immediate area.
The Sheriff´s Department is continuing with the investigation.
