Tuolumne County Supervisors To Vote On Delaying Mountain Springs Decision

Sonora, CA — When the Tuolumne County supervisors return from their 90 minute lunch break today at 1:30 they are scheduled to vote on delaying a decision on the Mountain Springs Community project for a period of two weeks.

According to Board Chair Dick Pland proponents and opponents of the project have requested that two week period in order to hopefully reach a compromise agreement on several issues.

Other items on today´s agenda: consideration of supporting a grant application to the Sierra Nevada Conservancy to fund the first level of engineering design for the preservation and restoration of Phoenix Lake, consideration of addressing California´s catastrophic wildfires and approving correspondence to the Air Resources Board concerning forest management practices, consideration of authorizing the submission of the HOME Investment Partnership Grant in the amountof $800,000 and consideration of supporting the preservation of Prop. 10, the California Children and Families First Act of 1998 and opposing any diversion or reprogramming of Prop. 10 funds.
