The Bourland Fire is located in basically the same remote area. On site are a helicopter and several hand crews. Barrios adds that the rate of spread is very slow. The Borland Fire is only a half-acre in size with a 200 foot acress small spot fire entitled Borland Two.

According to Public Information Officer Pat Kaunert at 12:30 this afternoon the Stanisalus National Forest will conduct a flyover to check for any “smokes” resulting from Tuesday´s storm.

These fires were caused by the 80-90 lightning strikes that occured in the Immigrant Wilderness area between 4 and 8pm.
