Sonora, CA — Details continue to surface following the capture of 32 year old Richard Patrick Nelson and his accomplice 25 year old Rachael Leann Bonfadini of Sonora.

Thursday, July 3 Sheriff´s deputy Rod Hobbs recognized Nelson and Bonfadini driving southbound on Greenley Rd. Hobbs followed as the pair passed Sonora Regional Medical Center and turned into the Andy´s Tru Value Hardware store parking lot.

Nelson walked into the store and then quickly exited the back of the store running from the scene. Bondadini entered the store moments later and was immediately arrested.

At approximately 3:25 that same afternoon Nelson was seen running across Hwy 108 towards Lime Kiln Rd. A motorist had heard the alert on AM-1450 KVML and contacted the Sheriff´s Office.

After approximately 45 minutes deputies cornered Nelson in the old Lime Kiln Plant area. They were assisted by the Sonora Police Department, the C.H.P. and State Parole personnel.

Stolen property was discovered in the Dodge Crew Cab left at Andy´s. There is evidence that both have been involved in several recent burglaries in this area. Besides being wanted for his involvement in the local burglaries, Nelson had a felony warrant for his arrest from the 29 Palms area in southern California for parole violations.

Evidence was also found to indicate that Nelson and Bonfadini are methamphetamine users.

Both remain in custody. Nelson has no bail while Bonfadini´s bail has been set at $20,000.
