20 Mother Lode Motorists Cited For New Year’s DUI’s

Sonora-San Andreas, CA — 20 Mother Lode motorists were cited by the C.H.P. over the New Year´s Maximum Enforcement Period for “driving under the influence.”
In Tuolumne County, Officer Tom Wills reports eight motorists were pulled over for “driving under the influence” as compared to only three a year ago. Wills attributes that to having more officers on the road.
In Calaveras County, Officer Jaime Castillo states that 12 motorists were arrested for “driving under the influence.” One of those motorists caused an accident.
Overall there were eight collisions and 93 citations issued over the Maximum Enforcement Period in Calaveras County. Eight of those citations were for seat belt or child safety seat violations.
