Sacramento, CA — From the National Weather Service, there is no immediate relief from the storms that continue to ravage California and the Mother Lode.

Wind gusts in the higher passes are expected to reach up to 50mph potentially causing whiteout conditions this afternoon.

In addition, a winter storm warning is now in effect through Sunday midnight from Yosemite south to the Kern County line. Heavy snowfall will continue at times through Sunday evening with an additional two to four feet expected above 7,000 feet. Snow levels will range from 4,500 to 5,000 feet through this evening. Colder air will then drop the snow level to below 4,000 feet through Sunday evening.
