Tuolumne County Reorganizes Fire Prevention Division

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County has made a decision to totally reorganize the Fire Prevention Division.

Senior Administrative Analyst for Human Resources Ann Fremd stated before the Board of Supervisors this morning that the current staffing includes a fire marshall and two fire prevention inspectors.

The current fire marshall, Kary Hubbard, is retiring due to health issues. One of the two fire prevention inspectors, Craig Hart, departed the Mother Lode for Santa Cruz several months ago. In the interim, Fire Prevention Inspector Steve Gregory has filled all three positions.

In the new alignment the Fire Marshall´s position is being eliminated. That position will be replaced by a Senior Fire Prevention Inspector. In addition there will be one Fire Prevention Inspector and one half-time Fire Prevention Inspector.

Savings to the county on an annual basis; $25,000.
