Browne Jailed In San Andreas On Multiple Charges

San Andreas, CA — 38 year old Stephen Browne of San Andreas was arrested and jailed on multiple charges by the CHP over the weekend.

Saturday afternoon Browne was headed southbound on Hwy 49 south of Treats Ave. Browne suddendly made a u-turn, but due to his high level of intoxication he drove onto the sidewalk side-swiping the Napa Auto Supply store. He then swerved back and forth between north and southbound lanes before proceeding back onto the sidewalk at Treats Market. He then drove back onto the roadway heading in a northbound direction. Browne then made a right turn onto Main Street rear-ending a parked vehicle and pushing it onto the sidewalk.

Browne attempted to leave the scene but was restrained by citizens. After an overnight stay at Mark Twain-St. Joseph´s Hospital because of his intoxicated condition, he was arrested and booked into the County Jail on charges of misdemeanor DUI and misdemeanor hit-and-run.
