$16,500 Raised For Local Cancer Support Fund

Sonora, Ca — Sonora Regional Medical Center and the Tuolumne County Aquatics Master Swimmers (TCA) recently teamed up and raised $16,500 for SRMC´s Cancer Patient Support Fund.
Organized by master swimmer and Family Nurse Practitioner Sheila Monaghan, TCA raised the funds through its annual 1650 event, in which members compete with other swim clubs across the region.
This year, swimmers solicited sponsors for the mile swim and donated the money to the fund. It assists local cancer patients with unmet financial needs such as buying food or gas, paying for various household expenses, out of town lodging, or services such as daycare.
The top fund-raiser was Mary Wisehart, who raised $1,725.
