Calaveras Man Arrested For DUI After Striking Deer

Wilseyville, Ca — 36-year-old Ronald H. Bessette of Wilseyville was arrested for DUI after striking a deer and then running into an embankment on Friday morning.
According to the CHP, Bessette was traveling on Hwy 26, just east of Deardorff Rd., when a deer jumped in front of his 1991 Chevy pickup truck. Bessette collided with the deer and then lost control of the vehicle.
When officers later arrived on scene, he was arrested and taken to Calaveras County Jail.
