Crews Continue To Battle Saturday’s Lightning Caused Fires

San Andreas-Sonora, CA — CAL Fire´s Lisa Williams reports that crews are continuing to fight three Arnold area fires, two of them at Big Trees State Park, the other at Dorrington.

A total of 20 acres has been burned in those three fires. Full containment is expected at eight o´clock this evening with full control predicted for 8pm Wednesday. There have been no injuries or structures damaged. No evacuations were ordered.

In Tuolumne County in the Stanislaus National Forest crews are involved in the 300-plus acre North Mountain Fire adjacent to Yosemite in the Groveland Ranger District. Four crews are on scene with the help of three to four tankers and two helicopters according to Stanislaus National Forest Public Affairs Officer Jerry Snyder.

The fire is burning away from the Camp Tawanga area. According to Snyder no structures are in danger and no injuries have been reported. In addition no evacuations have been ordered.

Outside of the Stanislaus National Forest in Tuolumne County approximately 100 acres burned as a result of multiple lightning strikes. Areas that were struck included Green Springs, Groveland (one striucture fire) and Baseline.
