Golden State Cellular Partners With Meals On Wheels

Sonora, CA — Golden State Cellular has partnered with Meals On Wheels (Sierra Senior Providers) to maximize communications for delivery drivers.

According to Golden State Cellular’s Darrell Slocum the Meals On Wheels delivery vehicles have been outfitted with a “hands free” dash mounted cellular phone with an antenna to provide the best possible transmissions.

Slocum adds that G.S.C. was motivated to provide this service because there is always the possibility that a Meals On Wheels client could experience a medical emergency. The delivery driver, who may be the only individual the client sees on a regular basis, would then be able to make the call for help.

As Slocum commented, “We all know how difficult cell coverage can be in the Mother Lode and we want to make sure that Meals On Wheels clients are protected as much as possible.”
