Calaveras Trio Booked On Multiple Charges

San Andreas, CA — In Valley Springs Deputy Michael Dittman ordered Thomas C. Jones to stop fighting with Michael Koppi.

When the order was dismissed Dittman attempted to fire his taser but it malfunctioned.

It was then that all three, the father, Thomas E., the son, Thomas C and Koppi attacked Dittman.

Deputy Josh Crabtree, Dittman and an Explorer Scout who had been riding with Dittman, were able to subdue the three. The trio was booked into the County Jail on multiple charges.

Thomas E. Jones was booked for battery on a peace officer, assault on a peace officer with a taser, obstruct/resist peace officer, removing a weapon from a peace officer other than firearm and public intoxication. His bail is #110,000.

His son, Thomas C., was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, battery on a peace officer, obstruct/resist peace officer, removing a weapon on a peace officer other than a firearm and public intoxication (marijuana).

Koppi was jailed for battery on a peace officer, obstruct/resist a peace officer and public intoxication.
