Coordination Plans Combined

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — During a special meeting Monday, the Tuolumne County Supervisors heard the pros and cons about two separate plans for land use planning and coordinating with state and federal agencies.

Many argued that an 80 page document submitted by Supervisor Teri Murrison was the best direction for the county, while others argued that it goes too far. Some argued for the county to use a 20 page coordination plan put together by Community Development Director Bev Shane and county staff members, while others felt it was too watered down to be effective.

After a long night of debate, the Supervisors voted 4-1 to combine the two competing plans and create a third plan. It will be discussed at a future meeting. Supervisor Liz Bass was the lone dissenting vote.
