Sponsored by:

The Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee begins this evening in downtown Tuolumne at 5pm.

Lumber Jubilee Board Member, Jenny Van Bolt, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

A carnival will get underway at 5pm with live music beginning at 7pm tonight.

The Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee Queen Coronation takes place Friday night starting after 6pm.

Saturday events will begin with a parade at 10 a.m., and the carnival will open at noon.

A car show will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Arm wrestling contests, a junior tug of war and a hot dog eating competition will all be held at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Soap Box Derby begins at 8:30 on Sunday morning. Sunday will also feature several logging events including ax throwing, crosscut sawing contests and the annual tug of war.

There will be plenty of craft booths available at the Park on all four days of the event.

The Tuolumne Lumber Jubillee originally began as a way to celebrate the re-opening of the mill after the Great Depression.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am
