Top Groveland Area Issues
Groveland, CA — Approximately 35 Pine Mountain Lake residents had the opportunity to share their concerns during a Tuesday evening Town Hall meeting.
Sheriff Jim Mele, Fourth District Supervisor John Gray and the C.H.P. (Officer Alan Pittman) hosted the meeting at the Pine Mountain Lake Lodge.
A number of recent burglaries proved to be the major concern of the residents. Mele suggested forming a Neighborhood Watch Program, trimming shrubbery and bushes while lighting each piece of property as much as possible. Mele also encouraged the use of alarm systems.
In addition he suggested residents should contact neighbors when they are leaving for a short trip or an extended vacation. Also if a residence is being rented the owner should inform neighbors about the vehicle or vehicles that will be parked at the home.
The residents also had a concern regarding the budget and the promise that was made that a Sheriff’s deputy would be on regular patrol in the outlying area. Mele assured the residents there would be no change in that area.
Mele also encouraged more Groveland area residents to join the C.S.U. (Citizens’ Service Unit) in order to provide the community with greater security.
