San Andreas, CA — The CHP is out looking for drivers that are intoxicated this News Year’s weekend.
Lt. Josh Ehlers of the San Andreas office reports that they are also looking for cell phone and seat belt violators. A CHP Maximum Enforcement Period started at 6pm Friday night and will continue until 11:59pm on Sunday. During this time all available officers will be on the roadways.
The CHP urges motorist to have a designated driver lined up well ahead of time or consider calling a cab. Officers say New Years Eve is considered one of the most dangerous times to be out on the roads.
