Three Angels Camp Teenagers Arrested
Angels Camp, CA– Three teenagers have been arrested for their involvement in a vandalism spree in Angels Camp .
The Angels Camp Police Department reports that the crimes occurred on Saturday, December 12 when a total of twelve victims had their home or vehicle windows broken by a medium sized projectile that was believed to be fired from a sling shot.
It was reported that at around 8:30 pm, a window was broken in the 500 block of Amador Avenue. By 9:30 pm, several other windows were broken in areas of the Greenhorn Creek subdivision, Finnegan Lane and Gold Cliff Road.
The Angels Camp PD initially reported nine crime victims, but since that time, three additional victims have come forward. The total cost of vandalism damage in these cases is estimated to be approximately $6,100.
Through the cooperation of victims, community and local business members, and with the aid of video surveillance from a local retailer, three suspects were identified and arrested on December 23. All three suspects admitted their involvement and confirmed that sling shots were used in the crimes.
Two of the three arrested are juveniles, a 16-year-old Angels Camp resident and a 17-year-old, also from Angels Camp. Both were cited and released to the custody of their parents and are required to contact juvenile probation for follow-up.
Tyler R. Brunson, 19, of Angels Camp, was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on multiple charges related to the 12 counts of vandalism, criminal conspiracy, and contributing to the delinquency of minors.
