Prisoner Release On Docket

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, Ca — The Calaveras County Supervisors will vote today whether to designate the Probation Department as the lead agency to coordinate oversight of state prisoners released early.

30,000 inmates will be released over a two year period as part of the state’s realignment of public safety that was approved by Governor Jerry Brown. Similar action was taken last week by the Tuolumne County Supervisors.

The Calaveras Supervisors are also scheduled to vote on whether to officially move to a twice a month meeting schedule. The Board had been meeting four times a month. Today’s meeting begins at 9am in San Andreas.
