Calaveras Relay For Life Celebration
San Andreas, CA– This weekend, hundreds of people will participate in Relay For Life Calaveras in San Andreas.
This annual American Cancer Society event will celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and give others the opportunity to fight back against the disease.
“It’s an amazing event to see a community like Calaveras County come together and remember those who have lost their lives to cancer and those who have been affected by it,” said Event Chair Janelle Stuscavage. “Everyone just comes together for the greater good and everyone is working towards a bigger cause. It’s an amazing event. It really is.”
Stuscavage says patients, medical support staff, businesses, civic organizations, churches and enthusiastic members of the public will gather at Calaveras High School this Saturday from 9:00 am through 9:00 am Sunday.
Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events. Participants will walk around a track around the clock during this inspirational celebration.
“Everybody is welcome,” said Stuscavage. “You don’t have to be on a team to participate. Even if you only have an hour free in the afternoon, come down to the event and show your support.”
Last year around 300 people participated in Relay For Life Calaveras.
