Vehicle Fatality On Highway 26

Burson, CA– A 48-year-old Valley Springs woman was fatally injured in a vehicle accident this morning in Calaveras County.

According to the San Andreas CHP, at around 8:25 am, Linda Louise Krigbaum was driving her 2008 Honda Civic westbound on Highway 26 during intermittent rain. As she was negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway just east of Burson Road, she lost control of her vehicle and crossed the double yellow lines.

She ran into the path of 62-year-old Wayne Alan Timmons of Manteca and collided with his 2001 Dodge Ram. Krigbaum was transported to Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Timmons was uninjured.

CHP Officer Jaime Castillo says this is the third vehicle accident fatality reported in Calaveras County in 2011.
