Twain Harte Caltrans Project Receives Funding

Sponsored by:

Twain Harte, CA – Caltrans has been allocated $253 million in new funding by the California Transportation Commission for 30 projects, including one in Tuolumne County.

The intersection of Highway 108, and Twain Harte Drive, will receive $329,000 of the money for improvements. The improvements include upgrading the existing guardrail and replacing a dike. The improvements are to reduce collisions at the intersection and prevent vehicles from running off the road.

Acting Caltrans Director Malcolm Dougherty said “From one end of the state to the other, transportation projects are providing good paying jobs while at the same time reducing traffic congestion for people and businesses in California.”

The allocations were approved by voters when the transportation bond Proposition 1B passed in 2006. $206 million comes from Proposition 1B money and the other $47 million came from assorted transportation accounts funded by state and federal dollars.
