Royce Discusses Issues

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne County Supervisor, Evan Royce, has held his seat for a little over a year.

Royce was KVML’s Wednesdayday KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Royce represents District 3 which includes Twain Harte, Tuolumne City and most of eastern Tuolumne County.

Royce feels that he has quickly matured as a Supervisor. His dissapointment is in the game of politics.

“For instance,” says Royce, “there is a difference between Sacramento saying that they are giving us local control, like they claim, versus giving us mandates, like they do. It’s spin, it’s a shell game, but you gotta follow the dollars.”

“Locally, there is a sense of economic improvement. However, there are a lot of state regulations that are prohibiting the proper growth of business. We are contining to address these problems.”

“We also still have a lack of funding for road maintenance. Public infrastructure continues to fall apart and we must continue to make it a major priority. However, the reality is that the dollars are very tight and limited.”

Royce is a Sonora Union High School graduate of 2001 and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo from 2001-2003. Royce majored in Civil Engineering.

An an owner of Royce Construction & Design, Inc, Royce feels that his background, such as knowing the numerous local permiting processes, allows him to focus on economic development in Tuolumne County.

Royce uses his spare time for fishing, hunting, camping and hiking.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
