A pacific storm will spread rain and mountain snow across central California on Monday.


According to the National Weather Service, a very cold airmass is associated with this storm.


On Monday, the snow levels will be around 4000 feet before dropping to 3500 feet by Tuesday morning as the storm moves out of the area.


Five to eight inches of snow accumulation is likely.


Wind gusts of up to forty-five mph are expected in the higher locations of the Sierra Nevada, especially both Monday afternoon and evening.


Up to half an inch of rain is expected in the central valley on Monday and Monday night.
