SUHSD Calls Special Private, Public Session Over Wildcat Ranch Lawsuit

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — A special meeting of the Sonora Union High School District will convene Thursday night at 7 over the Wildcat Ranch.

According to the meeting documents, after hearing public comments, the meeting will adjourn into an estimated two-hour closed session to discuss the district’s lawsuit with the Tuolumne County Farm Bureau. While in closed session the board also slated to do a performance review of District Superintendent Dr. Mark Miller.

As reported here, last Friday, the Farm Bureau was granted a temporary injunction over the sale regarding a major portion of the district-owned Wildcat Ranch property to the nonprofit Park Foundation, which seeks to create public recreational facilities there.

The agenda indicates that the district estimates reopening the meeting to the public around 9:15 p.m. for comments. Also listed as the sole regular agenda action item is an open session discussion concerning the Wildcat Ranch with a specifically stated “liberty to take action should the need arise.” The meeting will be held at Sonora High in Room FL-1.
